Endoscopic Ultrasound
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is a minimally invasive procedure to assess digestive tract diseases and other nearby organs and tissues. EUS combines the use of a thin, flexible tube (endoscope) inserted into the gastrointestinal tract and a device that uses sound waves to create images (ultrasound).
We strongly encourage you to visit [here] to learn more about the procedure.
[Here] is our standard preparation sheet for EUS. Your doctor may modify these instructions to meet your needs, and such details will be provided to you.
On the day of your procedure, an intravenous line (IV) will be inserted after you arrive at the hospital, and you will be directed to the procedure room. You will be at the hospital for at least a couple of hours. This procedure usually requires sedation, and you will need to arrange to have a driver take you home.
