Meet Bethany
Bethany graduated from Okanagan College in 2001 with a Baccalaureate degree of Science in Nursing. She was hired by Kelowna General Hospital that year and began work in the GI Endoscopy Unit. In 2005, she completed the Canadian GI Nursing Certification exams. Bethany assisted in course development for the inaugural Gastroenterology Nursing Certification program. As a long-standing member of the Canadian Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Association, she has also participated in Okanagan Chapter roles, including Chapter President.
She was recruited by Kelowna Gastroenterology Associates in 2016 to begin training as an Inflammatory Bowel Disease Nurse. The following year, she was awarded a Canadian IBD Fellowship, which provided mentor training in Calgary. She predominately assists Dr. Robert Penner and Dr. Sundeep Singh but does provide support for all members of our GI Physicians team.
Bethany continues to share her work between Kelowna GI and the KGH GI Unit. She values the opportunity to assist with patient journeys during both endoscopy and clinic visits. She appreciates spending time with her husband and two sons when not at work.
